Butterfly Cape Town & Mauritius

Our Property Recommendations

A contrasting & relaxing 2 week holiday – one of our most popular combinations

Described by Sir Francis Drake in 1580 as ‘the fairest cape in all the world’, the ‘Mother City’ of Cape Town is one of the world’s top tourist destinations. With plenty to offer the tourist you should never get bored. Table Mountain is the iconic backdrop of Cape Town rising over 1000m above sea level - it can be seen from all over the city. Taking the revolving cable car up to the top is a must or if you’re feeling adventurous there are several hiking routes to the summit.

The Victoria & Alfred (V&A) Waterfront is a prime attraction in the city, a working harbour and tourist attraction offering world class shopping, a huge variety of restaurants, cafes & bars. The ferry trip to Robben Island, the site of Nelson Mandela’s incarceration for much of his 27 years in prison, leaves from here. The park-like botanical gardens at Kirstenbosch, Cape Town’s beaches and the city centre with its outdoor street markets, boutique shops & stylish restaurants are all added attractions.

From Cape Town you are also within striking distance of the winelands, Hermanus and the West Coast National Park – all pleasant day trips.

Mauritius

Combine this with a week relaxing in the sophisticated surroundings of your resort hotel and enjoy the beaches, watersports, golf courses, scuba diving, deep sea fishing and many other activities and leisure facilities on offer in the tropical playground of Mauritius. With it’s Creole and European influences, fine seafood and talented chefs, the culinary experience is also a good one. Each of the resorts we recommend offers wedding packages and three of the four have full kids & teen clubs on site.

The island is approximately 40 miles north to south and 28 miles east to west, making it an ideal size to explore. You might like to rent a soft-top jeep and spend a day or two visiting the markets, shops, towns, public beaches and tourist sites of this safe multi-cultural island.

Other options include combining a safari in Botswana with Mauritius; combining a week in Cape Town with a week in Namibia; or why not visit Cape Town, Namibia, Botswana and Mauritius on the one trip – a trip of a lifetime ! Mauritius also combines well with the many islands in The Seychelles and the volcanic ruggedness of nearby Reunion.
