Africa Collection was founded in 2000 as the UK office of South Africa’s Portfolio Collection. As well as marketing this unique collection of establishments we launched a reservations service, enabling travellers to book Portfolio establishments via a UK office. We are now a fully bonded tour operator, and from these beginnings we are excited to be able to present our website to Southern Africa & the Indian Ocean – 8 amazing countries & countless hand-picked travel experiences.

The Team

Our knowledgaeable and experienced staff are on hand to offer you any assistance you require. We are a small company that specialises in travel to sub-equatorial Southern Africa & the Indian Ocean - we know what we are talking about ! Between our team of 7 we have over 100 years of experience in the travel & tourism industry. And that's not to mention the 23 staff in South Africa !

In the Special Offers section of this website are details of where we have negotiated or are offering an added value offer to enhance your holiday experience. This could be in the form of a free nights offer, child offers, honeymoon offers, long stay discounts, room upgrades, free transfers – there are plenty of variations. In compliance with the UK Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 an insurance policy has been arranged with Travel & General Insurance Plc to protect the monies paid in respect of the travel arrangements offered on this website and to cater, where necessary (and subject to the terms of the insurance policy), for a refund of such monies and/or your repatriation to the UK in the unlikely event of our financial failure. Any air holidays or flights booked by Africa Collection are protected by the Civil Aviation Authority - our ATOL number is 6514 –www.caa.co.uk

Families & Children

Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands are family friendly regions. Many of the lodges and hotels actively cater for families and many properties also offer considerable discounts for children, either sharing with the parents or in some cases in their own room. As a rule of thumb, children under the age of 6 years are not allowed on game activities, for both safety reasons and consideration to other guests, although in some cases you can take private vehicles. Please contact us and allow us to arrange your perfect family holiday.

Special Interest

If you want to visit a particular area to engage in a particular activity, please let us know and we will do our best to assist. South Africa has some great golf courses, the region generally offers some great diving opportunities, horse-riding is widely available. South Africa is home to the Cradle of Humankind as well as many very accessible battlefield sites. The wine-making process, and tasting, is one of the highlights of a visit to the Cape. We can arrange weddings, special occasions, sporting groups, school trips, sales incentives – the list is endless, but space on this website is not, so please ask us.
