Desert & Dunes of Namibia Experience Namibia …

“The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man” - a saying of unknown origin, but undoubtedly true. Most of Namibia is exactly as nature intended it and that is a major attraction of this remarkable country.

There is no better way to get a real feeling for the scale of Namibia than from the air. Take a scenic flight or hot air balloon from the Sossusvlei region or Swakopmund over some of the largest sand dunes in the world – a veritable sea of dunes. Or head north to the harsh Skeleton Coast with it’s bays, islands and shipwrecks.
Get up close and personal with the Cheetah and Leopards at Okonjima, home to the AfriCat Foundation. This worthwhile project rehabilitates and provides sanctuary for these often threatened and endangered creatures.
Be exhilarated on a quad-biking excursion through desert terrain.
Face-first, flat on your tummy down a huge sand dune on an adapted piece of hardboard – otherwise known as dune-boarding !
Clamber up Dune 45, probably the most photographed sand dune in the world.
Kayak with flamingos, pelicans, seals and dolphins from Walvis Bay.
Track the remarkable desert adapted elephants from one of our featured lodes in the Damaraland area or experience the daily life, traditions and rituals of the local and nomadic Ovahimba people in the same area.
Drive yourself through Etosha National Park and see the remarkable Etosha Pan and some amazing game viewing en route.
Hike the 2nd largest canyon in the world – Fish River Canyon.
