Scheduled Airline Failure Cover

In 2007 there were six major airline failures yet in the first six months of 2008 there were 20 major failures. In July 2007 the British Airways Chief Executive reported, “We are in the worst trading environment the (airline) industry has ever faced. The combination of unprecedented oil prices, economic slowdown and weaker consumer confidence has led to substantially lower first quarter profits. Fuel prices have doubled in the past year.”

Whilst we are confident our airline suppliers are financially strong we have an insurance policy in place protecting us and you in the event of one of our airlines failing. If you book your flights direct with the airline you are not automatically covered, so please beware.

IATA Accreditation

We are also IATA Accredited, enabling us to issue airline tickets, and a further indication of fiscal stability.

Other Insurances

Without wishing to appear nervous ninnies, we also have other insurance policies in place to guard against the negligence of our suppliers (please refer to Terms & Conditions) and even against the negligence or unlikely incompetence (or as we prefer to call it, the 'human' factor) of Africa Collection staff.

Don't just take our word for it

You may well think that we in the travel & tourism industry have a vested interest in advising you to book via a bonded company - and of course we do. But you may also be interested to see what the Civil Aviation Authority, a government agency, has to say on the matter - click here
